What are resealable bags?
Resealable bags have an integrated closure mechanism that can be opened and closed any number of times – without loss of tightness and without external aids such as clips or adhesive tape. They are the practical alternative to once-sealed bags and ideal for contents that are removed in portions: food, small parts, cosmetics, samples, tools.

Tightness, aroma protection and shelf life
The tightness of a resealable bag depends on three factors: closure type, material and wall thickness. For aroma-sensitive contents (coffee, tea, spices) the combination of aluminium composite and a double zip is ideal – it blocks oxygen, UV and aroma loss almost completely.
High-quality ziplock closures withstand many hundreds of opening cycles. The tightness gradually decreases but remains usable for a long time. Slider closures can wear out if sand or powder gets in – then a ziplock is the better choice.

Sustainable options
Resealable bags are already more sustainable than single-use packaging thanks to their reuse – typically 50–500+ cycles. In addition there are:

How often can I open a ziplock bag?
High-quality ziplock bags withstand many hundreds of opening cycles. The tightness gradually decreases but remains good for a long time. With good care and clean profiles, 500+ cycles are realistic.
Can resealable bags be printed?
Yes – we print all resealable bags with your logo via bespoke manufacture. Processes: flexo printing, gravure printing, digital printing.
Which is better – ziplock or slider?
Ziplock is cheaper and sufficient for most applications. A slider is more convenient with frequent opening and for limited manual dexterity (older users, children).
Are resealable bags dishwasher-safe?
No – PE cannot withstand the high dishwasher temperatures. Clean by hand with lukewarm water and a mild detergent.
Can I vacuum-seal ziplock bags?
A standard ziplock does not hold a vacuum. For vacuum applications you need special sealed edge bags or vacuum bags with an embossed structure.
Which wall thickness for frequent reuse?
At least 60 microns, better 90–120 microns – then the bag also copes well with mechanical stress. Detailed table in the PE bag guide.
Are resealable bags also available with a write-on panel?
Yes – with one to three white strips for labelling → ziplock with write-on panel. Ideal for the workshop and spare-parts sorting.
