What are U-clips and clip bands?

U-clips and clip bands are the closure accessories for film sacks and bags without an integrated closure. U-clips are small PP clips in a U shape that are clamped over the mouth flaps of the sack by pressure. Clip bands are flexible bands with an internal wire that are wrapped around the sack mouth and twisted – hence the name twist closure.

In market trade and direct marketing they are the quick standard: market traders seal thousands of cone bags and flat bags per day with clip bands. In bakeries, bread bags are sealed within seconds using clip bands. In workshops for screw assortments and spare parts.

What are U-clips and clip bands?

U-clips are U-shaped closure clips that seal tubular and film bags quickly, without tools and without welding – classically on bread, fruit and vegetable bags. Clip bands are flexible plastic bands with a wire core for bundling and sealing.

What are U-clips used for?

For quickly sealing bags in bakeries, farm shops, nurseries and food crafts – wherever bags are sealed frequently and without a film welding device. The clip can be reopened and reused several times.

What material are the clips made of?

U-clips are usually made of food-grade plastic (PP/PE), clip bands of plastic with a metal wire core. The food-grade variants are suitable for direct contact in accordance with EU 10/2011.

Which sizes/widths are available?

U-clips fit various opening widths depending on the bag gathering; clip bands come in different lengths and widths. Tell us the bag film and gathered diameter and we will name the matching clip.

Are U-clips reusable?

Yes – unlike a weld seam, the clip can be opened and closed again. This makes it ideal for bags that the customer opens repeatedly (bread, nuts, pet food).

Can I also use clip bands for bundling?

Yes – thanks to the wire core, clip bands can be bent and released again to bundle cables, plants, rods or herb bunches. More versatile than a fixed cable tie.

Are the clips food-grade?

The food-grade variants comply with EU 10/2011 – a requirement for direct contact with baked goods and fresh produce. Declaration of conformity on request.
