Elke Plastic GmbH is a family-run specialist importer of film and closure packaging from Rielasingen-Worblingen on Lake Constance. What began in 1972 as a small sales office is today one of the largest European importers of ziplock bags — directly available from our DE warehouse.

Since 1972.

Five decades of family business with a clear promise: fast, personally advised packaging solutions from Rielasingen-Worblingen — for the DACH region and all of Europe. Here are the key milestones of our history.

  1. 1972

    Founded in Rielasingen

    THE BEGINNING

    In 1972 the Elke Plastic story begins in Rielasingen-Worblingen on Lake Constance — with a small sales office for LDPE film packaging. From the start the focus is on direct contact with industrial customers and short delivery routes.

  2. 1988-1994

    The next generation

    FAMILY BUSINESS GROWS

    Between 1988 and 1994 the sons Andreas, Thomas and Axel became active in the company and from then on helped to successfully expand the family business.

  3. 2002

    Acquisition & conversion to GmbH

    NEW STRUCTURE

    In 2002 the management was handed over to the three sons and the company was converted into a GmbH. Under the new leadership the company continues to grow and the product range is steadily expanded.

  4. 2004

    DACH presence complete

    EXPANSION SWITZERLAND

    In 2004 the Switzerland branch was founded. Even though quite a lot has changed since those days, we have remained true to the field of film packaging to this day. Our range includes the complete product family of resealable film packaging. We are now one of Europe's leading specialist suppliers of closure bags of every kind, including:
    press-to-close bags, slider zip bags, zipper bags,
    adhesive closure bags and drawstring bags. A further selection of
    complementary products can be found in our range. Prompt
    deliveries, expert advice and always an open ear for
    problem-solving are binding goals for us as one of the largest importers of press-to-close bags in Europe.

  5. 2016

    Relaunch 1.0

    In 2016 a major e-commerce and online marketing project was due. The old shop was completely reworked, redesigned and brought up to current standards.

  6. 2025/2026

    Relaunch 2.0 — new shop

    DIGITAL RELAUNCH

    Almost 10 years after the successful relaunch in 2016, we are once again taking on the challenges of the digital age. With new branding, look & feel and several features in the areas of usability & customer journey, we are gearing up for the future of online retail.

We don't produce packaging ourselves. For almost 50 years we have been selecting producers worldwide, continuously checking quality against EU 10/2011 and REACH, and keeping a broad range ready directly at our own DE warehouse. This makes us quick to deliver and independent of individual plants.

Direct from warehouse, no dropshipping

All standard ranges are physically in our DE warehouse. Orders placed by 14:00 are usually dispatched the same working day — with no detours via manufacturer warehouses or third-party providers.
