What are industrial side gusset sacks?

Side gusset sacks for industry and logistics are robust PE film sacks with lateral gussets, used universally in industrial B2B packaging. They replace carton inner packaging, are cost-efficient and create waterproof protection for all applications. For component collection, bulk goods packaging, interim storage and all industrial B2B applications they are standard.

Our range of industrial side gusset sacks covers typical B2B sizes. Film thicknesses 60–150 microns, with an antistatic variant for machine applications. Available with printing for industrial branding and batch tracking.

In the range you will find various material variants, film thicknesses and application specialisations – from standard LDPE through laminate films with an aluminum aroma barrier to sustainable PCR recyclate, bio-PE and mono-material options. All standard films and bio-PE variants are available food-grade to EU 10/2011 – PCR/recyclate variants are currently still in the test phase for food-contact suitability and are not approved for direct food contact. Frequently asked questions about industrial side gusset sacks

What are side gusset sacks used for in industry and logistics?

As collection, transport and protective sacks for bulk goods, components, granules and semi-finished goods: carton and mesh box liners, pallet covers, buffer storage between production steps. The side gusset gives box-shaped volume and makes optimal use of pallet space.

Which wall thickness is common in industrial use?

Typically 80–200 microns. For light dry goods and covers 80–100 microns, for heavy or sharp-edged components and big-bag liners 150–200 microns or thicker. The decisive factor is puncture resistance, not just weight.

How do I calculate volume and dimensions?

The lay-flat dimension is width + side gusset; when filled, a box-shaped cross-section results from width × gusset depth. Give us the target volume or carton/mesh box dimension and we will tell you the width, side gusset and length.

Are there VCI and antistatic industrial sacks?

Yes. VCI sacks release a corrosion-protection agent and protect bare metal parts without oil/grease; antistatic sacks protect ESD-sensitive electronics. Both as a custom order with a minimum order quantity.

Are the sacks suitable for food bulk goods?

The food-grade variant to EU 10/2011 is certified for food granules, flour, sugar and ingredients. Standard industrial goods are not automatically food-grade – specifically request the certified variant.

Are they suitable as big-bag or FIBC liners?

Yes – as liners for big bags/FIBCs they protect dust- and moisture-sensitive bulk goods. Higher wall thicknesses and precise dimensions are required here; we manufacture liners to the respective big-bag volume.

How are the sacks closed?

By weld seam (film sealer), bag clip, cable tie or strapping. For dust-tight or hygienic applications we recommend the continuous weld seam.

Common industrial formats are available from stock with no minimum order value; special sizes, VCI, antistatic and food versions we offer on request from a defined order quantity. Shipping from our German warehouse.
