What are transparent ziplock bags?

Transparent ziplock bags are the all-round solution in the packaging bag range. They are made from clear LDPE film and have an integrated zip closure – the so-called press-seal closure – which opens and closes with light finger pressure. The transparent film has a decisive practical advantage: the contents are visible at a glance, without the bag having to be opened. This makes them an indispensable tool wherever different contents have to be sorted, identified and removed quickly.

The zip closure itself is a technical detail with a big effect: a profiled strip of two interlocking tongue-and-groove elements is locked by finger pressure when closing and can be reopened without tools. High-quality closures withstand 100 to several hundred opening and closing cycles without losing their tightness. This makes the bags suitable both for single-use packaging and for reuse in everyday workshop, kitchen or hobby life.

Our range of transparent ziplock bags covers more than 40 standard formats – from 40×60 mm mini format up to 300×400 mm large format. Film thicknesses from 50 microns (standard) to 100 microns (extra strong) allow adaptation to different load requirements. All standard bags are food-grade in accordance with EU 10/2011 and are therefore also approved for food contact. If required, you receive declarations of conformity and migration tests.

Frequently asked questions about transparent ziplock bags

How transparent are the bags?

Our transparent ziplock bags are made from clear LDPE film. They are not 100% crystal-clear like PET, but slightly milky-transparent. For practical use this is sufficient – the contents are clearly recognisable and colour nuances are distinguishable. For maximum clarity there are special clear PP bags as an alternative.

Are the bags reusable?

Yes. The zip closure withstands 100 to several hundred opening and closing cycles, depending on film thickness and application. In everyday hobby and kitchen use, the bags can be opened and resealed many times over months without any loss of tightness.

Which size should I choose?

Measure your contents laid out flat: the internal dimensions of the bag should be about 10–20% larger. This leaves room for clean sealing without the zip closure being blocked by the contents. For elongated contents (e.g. brushes, writing instruments) we recommend going one size up rather than a tight fit.

Are the bags food-grade?

Yes, all standard ziplock bags in our range are food-grade in accordance with EU 10/2011. For special applications (high-fat, alcoholic, long contact time) we supply the corresponding declarations of conformity with migration data on request.

Can I print the bags with my brand logo?

Yes, custom printing is available. Order quantity and printing process determine the price – we are happy to advise on cost-efficient options. For small quantities, labelling with self-adhesive labels is often the more flexible alternative.

Do the bags withstand freezing?

Yes, LDPE is cold-resistant down to -40 °C. For frequent freezer applications we recommend 70-micron bags or stronger, as the film otherwise becomes brittle at extreme cold.

Does the closure really seal tightly?

Yes, when operated correctly. Important: the zip closure must be pressed firmly shut with the fingers along its entire length – a hit-and-miss press is not enough. With clean sealing, the bag is dust-tight and splash-water-resistant.

How do the bags differ from PE ziplock bags at the discounter?

Our range consists of certified industrial films direct from the manufacturer – with consistent closure quality, documented food-grade compliance and a choice of 40+ sizes. Discounter bags usually have only 3–5 standard sizes and no data sheet – for commercial use or larger quantities they are poorly suited.

Are they suitable for shipping?

From 70 microns, generally yes. For consignments with sharp-edged contents or in high-speed shipping we recommend 90-micron extra strong. For particularly delicate consignments, combining them with a padded shipping envelope as an outer shell is advisable.

Can the bags be hung on a pegboard?

Variants with a Euro hole are designed specifically for this. The reinforced punched hole at the top reliably holds the weight of the bag. For storage or kitchen applications, a Euro hole is usually not needed.

What is the minimum order quantity?

None – no minimum order value. Custom printing, however, is cost-efficient depending on the order quantity. For tests and sampling we recommend standard stock from our warehouse.
