What are slider bags for food?
Slider bags for food are the specialised variant for the kitchen, freezer and meal prep. They differ from classic ziplock bags through the sliding closure: a plastic slider is pulled along the closure rail and reliably presses the profile together. This makes the closure tighter and easier to use – especially with moist or oily hands during food preparation – and more secure against leaking.
The typical use: freezer storage with frequent reuse. Standard freezer bags with a ziplock closure wear out after 30–50 closing cycles, whereas slider bags manage several hundred cycles. For families who fill their freezer with reused bags, or for professional kitchens with meal-prep approaches, they are considerably more practical than standard ziplock bags. They are also ideal for marinade applications (marinating meat) – the waterproof sliding closure prevents the marinade from leaking out.
Our slider bags for food range covers the typical kitchen and professional standard sizes: 200×300 mm (single portions, salads), 250×350 mm (family portions), 300×400 mm (large freezer portions). Film thicknesses of 80–100 microns are common – more robust than a standard ziplock closure, ideal for freezer cold resistance. Food-grade compliance to EU 10/2011 (the PCR-recycled variant is still in the testing phase for food-contact suitability and is not currently approved for direct food contact) is standard. We supply declarations of conformity on request.
