The rLDPE flat bag with recycled content 50 microns is a flat, closure-free packaging bag made from LDPE with GRS-certified recycled content and 50 microns material thickness. It offers the familiar LDPE properties in the robust universal thickness – but with reduced virgin material usage, making it the more sustainable choice in the PE recycling stream.

01

What the rLDPE flat bag is used for

The rLDPE bag is intended for users who want to lower their material footprint without giving up the proven LDPE processing. It covers the same fields of use as the standard LDPE bag 50 microns.

  • Non-food trade: technical small parts, accessories, samples and loose goods
  • small parts and spare parts: screws, workshop components, electronic components
  • shipping and storage bags with a sustainability claim
02

Material and properties

The base is LDPE with GRS-certified recycled content. GRS (Global Recycled Standard) verifiably documents the origin and share of the recycling material. The bag is crystal-clear and retains the soft, tear-resistant LDPE properties. The recyclate variant is not suitable for direct food contact: rLDPE is still undergoing testing for food-contact suitability. LDPE is cold-resistant and freezer-suitable down to approx. -40 °C, and heat-stable up to around 70–80 °C. As a PE mono-material the bag remains recyclable and PPWR-compliant from 2030.

03

When the recyclate bag is the right choice

Choose the rLDPE bag if proven recycled content is important to you and you want to stay in the PE recycling stream. Material and 50-micron thickness correspond to the standard LDPE flat bag 50 microns, which is in turn more crystal-clear and free of recyclate colour variation. If the packaging should instead be compostable, the PLA flat bag 50 microns (EN 13432) is the alternative – a different recovery route. This way you can specifically choose the argument that counts most in your communication: recyclate quota or compostability.

04

Processing and ordering

In processing, the rLDPE bag behaves like regular LDPE: you fill and seal it exactly like the standard bag with any film sealing device. You order it as stock goods without a minimum order value; we usually ship from our German warehouse within 1–3 working days and are happy to include free samples before your first order, on which you can assess the possible slight clouding caused by the recyclate yourself.

Frequently asked questions about the rLDPE flat bag with recycled content 50 microns

What does the GRS-certified recycled content mean?

GRS stands for Global Recycled Standard and verifiably documents the origin and share of the recycling material used. This way you can credibly declare the recycled content of your packaging.

How does the rLDPE bag differ from the standard LDPE 50 microns?

Material and thickness are identical, but the rLDPE bag contains recyclate. The standard bag is in turn more crystal-clear and free of the possible slight colour or clarity variations that recyclate can bring.

Does the bag lose stability due to recyclate?

No, the 50-micron thickness remains the robust universal dimension. The bag retains the soft, tear-resistant LDPE properties; purely visually, recyclate can lead to slight clarity differences.

Is the rLDPE bag food-safe?

No. At present, all rLDPE variants are still undergoing testing for food-contact suitability. For direct food contact, please choose our food-safe bags made from virgin LDPE.

Is the bag suitable for small parts and spare parts?

Yes, expressly. With 50 microns you securely pack screws, workshop components or electronic components. For particularly sharp-edged or heavy contents, a thicker LDPE variant makes sense.

Can I freeze the rLDPE bag?

Yes. Like regular LDPE it remains flexible down to approx. -40 °C and is freezer-suitable. It is heat-stable up to about 70–80 °C, so it is not suitable for hot filling.

rLDPE or PLA – which is the more sustainable route?

That depends on the recovery route. The rLDPE bag relies on recyclate and recyclability in the PE stream; the PLA bag on industrial composting according to EN 13432. Choose according to your disposal and brand concept.

How is the bag disposed of?

As PE mono-material, sorted by variety into the PE recycling stream. This makes it recyclable and meets the PPWR requirements from 2030.
