PPWR-compliant packaging – green traffic light, proof included

Here you will find packaging that, in our assessment, meets the currently applicable requirements of the EU packaging regulation PPWR. It carries the PPWR traffic light green. The proof is available as a declaration of conformity and a data sheet.

What the PPWR requires is explained in the PPWR overview. How to check suppliers is described in the declaration of conformity and in the PPWR checklist. You can find the documents for our products in the PPWR data sheets.

01

What does PPWR-compliant mean?

The PPWR is the EU packaging regulation (Verordnung (EU) 2025/40). The first obligations have applied since 12.08.2026, and further stages follow until 2040. On our product pages, the PPWR traffic light shows where a product stands:

  • Green: The product meets the currently applicable requirements.
  • Yellow: The product is compliant today, but an upcoming stage is not yet met.
  • Red: The product does not currently meet the requirements, and we recommend an alternative.

This collection contains the products with the green traffic light. The classification is not a substitute for legal advice. The text of the regulation is binding.

02

Who is the collection for?

  • Retailers and online shops: You need proof from your suppliers before you resell or ship packaging.
  • Fillers and brands: You want packaging for which the documentation is complete.
  • Manufacturers: You are looking for upstream suppliers with traceable documentation.
  • Importers: You check conformity before placing products on the market.
03

Which documents do you get?

  • Declaration of conformity: Statement by the manufacturer that the packaging meets the requirements.
  • Data sheet: Material, dimensions and technical details for each item.
  • Proof: Information on heavy metals and, for food contact, on PFAS.

You can find all documents live in the PPWR data sheets. If a document is missing, write to us and we will supply it.

Frequently asked questions about PPWR-compliant packaging

What does PPWR traffic light green mean?

Green means: In our assessment, the product meets the currently applicable requirements of the PPWR. You can find the proof in the PPWR data sheets.

Why are there yellow products too?

Yellow means: The product is compliant today but does not yet meet an upcoming stage, for example recyclability from 2030. You can use it today and should plan the changeover.

As a retailer, do I need a declaration of conformity for every packaging?

You check that your suppliers' proof is available and file it for each item. The declaration is, in principle, issued by the manufacturer. More on this on the page about the declaration of conformity.

Is packaging made of mono-PE automatically PPWR-compliant?

No. Mono-PE has good prerequisites for recycling, but the overall structure and the proof are what matter. Rely on the traffic light and the data sheet on the product.

Does the classification apply to all countries?

As a regulation, the PPWR applies directly in all EU member states. The classification applies to all our EU markets.
