The rLDPE ziplock bag with recycled content, 90 microns, no write-on strips combines sustainability and robustness: LDPE with a recycled PE share, a sturdy 90-micron wall thickness and a double-lip ziplock closure. This gives you puncture-resistant packaging with reduced virgin material usage.

01

What the robust recyclate variant is suited for

The 90 microns give noticeably more tear and puncture resistance, while the recycled content improves your packaging footprint. This combination suits more demanding contents with a sustainability claim:

  • heavier or sharp-edged small and spare parts, metal components
  • robust non-food packaging with frequent handling of the units
  • shipping and storage packaging that should be robust and resource-saving
02

Material, thickness and recycling

The base is LDPE with recycled content: soft, tear-resistant, freezer-suitable down to about -40 °C, and additionally puncture-proof at 90 microns. The use of recyclate may make the film minimally less crystal-clear than pure virgin material. The recyclate variant is not suitable for direct food contact — rLDPE is still undergoing testing for food-contact suitability; for food, please choose our food-safe virgin bags. As a PE mono-material the bag is fully recyclable in the PE stream and PPWR-compliant from 2030 — recycled content plus recyclability contribute directly to the circular requirements of the PPWR.

03

When 90 microns recyclate instead of 50 microns?

The 50-micron recyclate variant is enough for light contents and is cheaper per bag. Reach for 90 microns as soon as the contents are heavy or sharp-edged or the bag is moved frequently. If you want maximum crystal clarity, virgin LDPE is the choice; if compostability is the goal, the PLA bag.

04

Robustness and eco-balance in one

This variant is aimed at everyone who wants to make no compromises on either load capacity or sustainability claim. The 90-micron wall absorbs the weight and edges of more demanding contents without tearing, while the recycled content reduces the use of virgin plastic and thus contributes to the circular requirements of the PPWR from 2030. Especially in shipping and storage, where bags are often handled multiple times, the thicker film plays out its longevity — and precisely this multiple use over the 30 to 50 closure cycles further improves the balance. Since the bag remains single-variety PE, after use it is fed back into the PE recycling stream via the recycling bin and fully recovered.

Frequently asked questions about the rLDPE ziplock bag with recycled content 90 microns

Why 90 microns in the recyclate variant?

For more puncture and tear resistance with heavier or sharp-edged contents — combined with the reduced virgin material usage through the recycled content. You get robustness and sustainability in one bag.

Is the bag with recycled content food-safe?

No. At present, all rLDPE variants are still undergoing testing for food-contact suitability. For direct food contact, please choose our food-safe bags made from virgin LDPE.

Does transparency suffer from the recycled content?

The film may appear minimally less crystal-clear than pure virgin material. In 90 microns this is barely visible; for absolute brilliance, virgin LDPE would be the alternative.

Does the 90-micron recyclate film withstand sharp-edged parts?

Yes, that is its strength profile. The thicker wall resists edges and burrs significantly better than the 50-micron variant. For extremely pointed parts, additionally bed the contents in the centre.

Is the variant freezer-suitable?

Yes. Like pure LDPE, rLDPE remains flexible down to about -40 °C; the 90-micron wall is even somewhat less sensitive to impact in the cold.

How do I dispose of the 90-micron recyclate bag?

Via the recycling / yellow bin. It is single-variety PE mono-material, NIR-detectable and fully recoverable in the PE stream — the recycled content closes the loop additionally.

How does this variant differ from the PLA bag?

rLDPE is recovered in the PE recycling stream (yellow bin); PLA is bio-based and industrially compostable (organic waste bin). You choose by goal: recycle in the PE loop or compost.

Which sizes are available in 90 microns with recycled content?

The available dimensions are listed in the order table above. Not every size is necessarily available in 50 and 90 microns — compare the tables or ask for a special size.
