What the 90-micron Euro hole variant is made for

The heavier the contents hang on the hook, the more pull acts on film and punch. The 90-micron wall and the reinforced punch withstand this load better than the standard thickness. This is typical for:

  • heavier self-service items, tool accessories and small metal parts on the retail hook
  • spare-parts sets that are presented hanging and frequently handled
  • food portions with a little more weight on the hanging shelf

Material and load capacity

Even at 90 microns, LDPE stays soft and crystal-clear, but gains considerably in puncture and tear resistance. The Euro hole punch is reinforced so the bag does not tear under load. Food contact is assured per EC 1935/2004 and EU 10/2011 (declaration of conformity on request), the material is suitable for freezing down to around -40 °C and, as a PE mono-material, recyclable and PPWR-compliant from 2030.

When 90 microns instead of 50 microns on the Euro hole?

The 50-micron Euro hole variant is enough for light hanging items and is cheaper per piece. As soon as the weight rises or the bags are frequently handled and re-hung by customers, 90 microns is the more durable choice because the wall and punch withstand more. If you don't need hanging, choose the version without a punch.

Safely absorbing pull on the hook

On the retail hook, the entire weight of the filled bag acts at a single point on the punch — and that is exactly where tears form with thin film. The 90-micron wall distributes this load better and deforms less, while the reinforced Euro hole punch withstands repeated hanging and removal by customers. This matters in retail because a torn bag or one lying on the floor lowers the impression of the display. At the same time, the contents stay fully visible through the crystal-clear LDPE and the double-lip closure stays resealable over 30 to 50 cycles. As a pure PE mono-material, the bag is fully recyclable via the recycling bin after use.

Why choose 90 microns on the Euro hole?

Because heavier hanging items pull strongly on film and punch. The 90-micron wall and the reinforced punch withstand this pull better and tear out less often than the 50-micron variant.

How much weight does the Euro hole hold in 90 microns?

Does the bag fit standard retail hooks?

Yes, the Euro hole is punched to Euro standard and fits the common pegboard hooks in retail.

How does it differ from the 50-micron Euro hole version?

Only in wall thickness and thus load capacity. Shape, Euro hole and press-to-close zip are identical; 90 microns withstands heavier contents and more frequent handling.

Does the hole impair the press-to-close zip?

No. The punch sits above the double-lip zip; the closure shuts unchanged and holds 30–50 press-to-close cycles.

May the 90-micron bag go in the freezer and contact food?

Yes to both. The LDPE is freezer-resistant down to around -40 °C and food-grade per EC 1935/2004 and EU 10/2011; for permanent marking in frozen goods use a permanent marker. The declaration of conformity is available on request.

How is the bag disposed of?

As pure LDPE via the recycling bin. The Euro hole and thickness do not affect full recyclability in the PE stream.
