What are delivery note pouches DIN A4?

Delivery note pouches DIN A4 are self-adhesive accompanying-paper pouches attached directly to the shipping carton or palletised goods as a holder for shipping documents. They consist of two film layers: a transparent front (LDPE or OPP) and a self-adhesive back. The delivery note, invoice or shipping document is placed inside the pouch and is immediately readable through the transparent front.

In B2B shipping and logistics they are indispensable: DHL, DPD, GLS, UPS and all common parcel service providers require shipping documents and delivery notes to be attached to the carton in a weather-protected and visible way. Delivery note pouches meet exactly this requirement. In the industrial and wholesale sector they are placed on every shipping carton; in e-commerce they are standard especially for B2B deliveries.

Adhesive that's too strong leaves residue that impairs carton recycling. Our suppliers work with well-balanced adhesives that hold durably and can be removed without residue.

Our packaging specialists advise on shipping and logistics requirements: for standard B2B shipping, 60 µm films with standard adhesive are ideal. For export and rough logistics environments, we recommend 80 µm films with extra-strong adhesive. For brands with their own branding, we offer custom printing.

How big are the pouches?

Outer dimension 230×320 mm – this corresponds to the DIN A4 inner dimension 210×297 mm with a small tolerance. This way every folded DIN A4 delivery note fits comfortably inside without the film tearing.

How does the self-adhesion work?

The back is fitted with a continuous adhesive surface covered by a peelable protective paper. Before attaching to the carton, the protective paper is removed and the pouch is stuck onto the carton.

Do the adhesives hold even in rough transport conditions?

Yes, our standard adhesives withstand splash water, temperature fluctuations (-20 to +50 °C) and mechanical stress without problems. For export and extreme conditions we recommend extra-strong adhesive variants.

Are the pouches waterproof?

Yes, LDPE film is waterproof. The delivery note stays reliably dry even in rain – important for outdoor logistics and parcel transport.

Can the pouches be applied with a removable bond?

Yes, with special re-removable adhesives. For reusable applications (internal logistics, frequent label changes) they are an option. When removed, the carton stays clean.

Are the pouches food-grade?

Not primarily, but our standard LDPE films are food-grade to EU 10/2011. For food shipping with direct carton contact this is important.

How many pouches per carton?

Typically 500–1,000 pieces per carton. For high-volume logistics customers, carton quantities from one pallet are the most cost-effective choice.

Can the pouches be printed with a logo?

Yes. For brand branding, custom printing makes sense. Standard texts such as “Delivery note”, “Documents” or “Accompanying paper” are cost-effective alternatives.

Which DIN size do I need?

For classic A4 delivery notes: DIN A4. For A5-format documents (compact delivery notes, small enclosed papers): DIN A5. For mini labels: DIN A6. For DIN long letters: DIN long. For pallet shipping: special pallet variants.

Are the pouches UV-resistant?

For short-term transport stress (days to weeks) without problems. For longer outdoor storage, UV effects can lead to embrittlement.

Are sustainable delivery note pouches available?

Yes, PCR-recycled variants are available. For brands with sustainability requirements they are a visible choice without impairing functionality.

Which run size makes sense?

Standard goods in unprinted DIN A4 are available from one carton. For custom printing, runs from larger quantities are worthwhile. We advise on run-size calculations.
