What the OPP-CPP bags with side gusset are used for

The side gussets give the bags more volume and depth, so they adapt well to larger or bulky fill quantities and stand up cleanly when filled. Combined with the sealable inner layer, they are suitable for products that should be sealed tightly and presented visibly at the same time.

Material and properties: OPP plus CPP

The OPP outer layer provides the stiff, crystal-clear look and dimensional stability; the CPP inner layer is the sealable layer over which the bags are welded tightly. The composite is food-grade in accordance with EC 1935/2004 and EU 10/2011; you get the declaration of conformity (PIM) on request. As a PP-based composite it is recoverable in the polypropylene stream and designed for the PPWR requirements from 2030.

Side gusset versus flat sealed-seam bags

Choose this variant when you need more fill volume and a sealable OPP-CPP composite. If a flat block bottom without additional side gussets is enough for you, the OPP sealed-seam bags with 40 or 50 microns are slimmer and cheaper to handle. For a natural look instead of crystal-clear film, reach for the kraft variant.

What does the OPP-CPP composite mean?

OPP forms the stiff, crystal-clear outer layer, CPP the sealable inner layer. This gives you brilliant visibility and dimensional stability on the outside and, on the inside, a layer over which the bag is welded tightly.

What do the side gussets do?

The side gussets create additional volume and depth. When filled, the bag unfolds wider and stands securely on the block bottom – ideal for bulky or larger fill quantities.

Can the bags be sealed by machine?

Yes. The sealable CPP inner layer is designed for clean weld seams and is suitable for manual as well as machine filling and sealing processes.

Is the composite food-grade?

Yes, the OPP-CPP composite is certified for direct food contact in accordance with EC 1935/2004 and EU 10/2011. We send the declaration of conformity (PIM) on request.

How does it differ from the OPP sealed-seam bag without side gusset?

The side-gusset bag offers more fill volume and depth. If you don't need that, the flat OPP sealed-seam bags with 40 or 50 microns are slimmer and easier to handle.

Does the content stay clearly visible?

Yes, the OPP outer layer is crystal-clear, so the content remains visible all around. A separate window is not needed.

Are the bags suitable for coffee?

Yes, for tea, spices and coffee in crystal-clear presentation. For freshly roasted coffee with CO₂ outgassing, an aroma protection valve can be added – we clarify that individually.

How do I dispose of the OPP-CPP bags?

As a PP-based composite they belong in the recycling collection and are recoverable in the polypropylene recycling stream, aligned with the PPWR requirements from 2030.
